Oats Protein Bites AKA Oats Laddoos (Indian Dessert)

This is my sister's recipe!


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup cashews

  • 1/2 cup skinless almonds

  • 1/2 cup pistachios

  • 1/2 cup mejool dates (soft)

  • 1 tbsp ground cardamom

  • 2 tbsp ghee (Trader Joe's)

Note: Ghee is clarified butter and in commonly used in Indian desserts. It has unsaturated (healthy fat) and saturated fat (unhealthy fat) and hence if consumed in small portion size can be healthy. I will be researching ghee this week for any potential studies.


Instructions:

  1. Blend all ingredients, except ghee, in a food processor.

  2. Once it’s all ground, place it in a mixing bowl.

  3. Add ghee and knead to make sure it’s all evenly mixed.

  4. Roll it into balls

  5. Store them either in the cooler part of your pantry or refrigerator.


These were so delicious. Great mid afternoon snack / post work out snack or even dessert. We started with 24 on Friday and down to 3 left within 3 days🤷🏽‍♀️❤️
