Lentil Fenugreek Soup / Dal

💛1 cup yellow split lentils / toor dal

💚2 cups Fenugreek leaves or spinach leaves ( frozen or fresh)

💛1 small red onion chopped

💚2 teaspoon crushed garlic

💛1 teaspoon mustard seeds

💚1 teaspoon cumin seeds

💛1 teaspoon ground turmeric

💚1/2 teaspoon chili powder

💛1 tbsp curry powder @wholefoods

💚2 tbsp lemon juice

💛salt to taste

💚1 tbsp curry leaves (optional)


Lentils are a good source of protein, fiber and complex carbs. Greens / fenugreek leaves are a good source of fiber there by stabilizing blood sugars. Regular use helps lower cholesterol and provides anti inflammatory effects.


I often add greens or vegetables to my lentils not just to add flavor but also to add health benefits.
